2026 North Scholarship Recipients

Awarded to a Fargo Public Schools student who is interested in the entrepreneurial or business field.

Awarded to a student who participated in Fargo North golf and who demonstrated a meaningful commitment to the game.

Awarded to a senior whose has participated in at least two years of Fargo North Boys or Girls Basketball and/or Golf and is interested in pursuing a degree in a mathematics field.

Dr. Rod Capistran taught mathematics at Fargo North High School from 2003 until his passing in 2020. Created by his students, this scholarship honors his legacy and supports a student pursuing mathematics.

Dr. Rod Capistran, a beloved Fargo North math teacher and accomplished musician, was deeply involved in local music and the International Music Camp (IMC). Created by his students, this scholarship honors his legacy and provides full IMC tuition and two private lessons to Band, Choir, or Orchestra students in grades 9–12.

Awarded to students who are dedicated to their community and have excelled in their DECA chapter.

Established in 1996, this scholarship supports Fargo North High School graduating seniors who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership, community service, and strong character. The scholarship honors Donald E. Dehne’s lifelong dedication to education and service. (Funded by the Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation)

Awarded to a student whose has excelled at art and/or math and whose character is associated with Tyler: excellence in people skills, excellence on the field of play, and possessing a true passion for life.

The Fargo North Class of 1968 established this scholarship to support graduating students pursuing associate degrees or certificate programs.

This scholarship is generously funded by the Fargo North Class of 1972 to help students in financial need take the next step in their educational path. The Fargo North Class of 1972 is building a legacy and paying it forward to Fargo North students.

Awarded to a Fargo North senior who has participated in boys or girls swim and dive.

Established in celebration of Dr. Elil Yuvarajan’s 50th birthday, the AKS Scholarship is named for the initials of his three children and honors his lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and helping others. This scholarship supports a student who plans to pursue higher education while making a positive impact in their community.

Presented to a student with a strong sense of values, their belief in good citizenship and their commitment to equality for all.

This scholarship was established by Spencer in memory of his wife, Fern, to support Fargo North students who have demonstrated excellence in athletics and who plan to continue their education at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Concordia College, or North Dakota State University.

Awarded to an academically motivated student who is the child of an educator and attends Fargo North, Fargo South, or Davies High School.

Awarded to a Fargo Public Schools student who displays a strong effort toward achieving academic potential, has a good sense of values and a strong desire to be of service to school and community and shows courage when approaching life's challenges.

Established in 2015, this scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who are active in band or orchestra and have been accepted to a two- or four-year post-secondary institution. The scholarship honors Butch Kouba, remembered for his love of music and community involvement.

Awarded to Fargo North seniors who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to the Cross Country and Track programs, coaching staff, their academics, and teammates.

Awarded to a student who has character both inside and outside of school, a strong work ethic, and who is determined to succeed at the post secondary level.

Awarded to Fargo North students who plan to pursue a post-secondary education with a demonstrated desire to be successful in life.

This scholarship is presented by NextGrad and is available to a Fargo Davies, North, and South graduating senior pursuing a post-secondary education.

Established in memory of 1989 Fargo North graduate Bradley Allen Sather, this scholarship honors his character, work ethic, and determination. It supports a graduating student with financial need pursuing a two-year college or vocational program.

Established by the Fargo North Class of 1966, this scholarship is awarded annually to a senior involved in boys or girls basketball and/or football. It honors the legacy of coaches Donald 'Diz' Dehne and Jerry Sheldon, who inspired students with their dedication and mentorship.

Thomas Mikal 'Mickey' Snortland, a proud supporter of North High and father of four North students, was active in music, theatre, and sports during his own high school years. This scholarship honors his memory by recognizing students dedicated to the fine arts.
